Personal Apache MySQL PHP - Web server for the S60 3rd phone

The acronym AMP refers to a solution stack of software, usually free
software / open-source software, used to run dynamic Web sites or
servers. The original expansion is as follows:

Apache, the Web server;
MySQL, the database management system (or database server);
PHP and sometimes Perl or Python, the programming languages.
The combination of these technologies is used primarily to define a web
server infrastructure, define a programming paradigm of developing
software, and establish a software distribution package

Exploring S60 with AllFiles

Symbian Signed says they won't accept any file explorer tools with
AllFiles capabilities. As a result of firmware modification, they
really don't need to do that, we can self-sign those! Here's
couple of screenshots of Y-Browser running with AllFiles capability:

By default, Y-Browser comes with standard set of capabilities, so
we need to add AllFiles capability to the set.

You'll need the fabulous sisinfo_v0.6.zip tool to unpack the sisx, elftran
(from sdk) to modify executable headers and of course makesis
and signsis to create new sisx.

Extract .sisx contents:
sisinfo.py -f Y_Browser_082_16_3rdEd.SISx -e
Adjust capabilities:
elftran -capabilities NetworkServices+LocalServices+ReadUserData+WriteUserData+UserEnvironment+AllFiles sys\bin\YuccaBrowser.exe

Finally, run makesis, signsis - you know the drill
for selfsigning. For makesis you need .pkg file,
you I made a simplified version for you - ybrowser_PKG.zip

makekeys -cert -password password -len 512 -dname "CN=symbaali OR=symbaali" key.key cer.cer
makesis ybrowser.pkg ybrowser.sis
signsis ybrowser.sis ybrowser.sisx cer.cer key.key password

[Game]7 Days-Salvation - Dingoo 3D game preview

7 Days is developed with a software rendering engine,
Soft3D. The game can run perfectly without any
hardware support, so it should support most
of the mobile phones in the market.

7 Days is completely real-time rendered, so what
you see in the video are all real-time 3D scenes,
we didn't include any CG clips.

Soft3D is a cross-platform game engine, so 7 Days
can easily support many different platforms
such as symbian, brew, wince, etc.(Good news:)

For the high-end mobile phones, it's possible to add
hardware accelerations, and the visual effects will
be improved to an extremely high level.

7 Days is a 3D adventure game about a famous horror
novelist, Salvator Ken, who is 30 years old, quite dissocial.
He used to lock himself in his villa and think about his
novel alone. One day, something strange happened, he
was trapped in his house! He can‘t escape! Is it
just a dream? If it is, when could he wake up?

7 Days tells a story about what happened to Ken in
these days. In the game, the player's choice and
interaction may affect the following events. It's a
game quite worth thinking, but for the light users,
the fine graphics, vivid sounds, and interesting
puzzles will also bring them a great fun!

CorePlayer Mobile v1.1 for Symbian

A COREPLAYER MOBILE SYMBIAN DEMO ON THE N80 HERE:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQxX-DAkn4E

After 2 years of hard work we are proud to announce that CorePlayer Mobile v1.1 is launching for the various Symbian operating systems on Wednesday August 29th, 2007
. Let it be known that Symbian users will no longer have to suffer from poor multimedia playback!!

I have been asked by reporters and bloggers if we are a part of the Nokia 'Go Play' event in London on the 29th..... while I will not say anything at this time I can state that us launching CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian on the 29th is no coincidence and that we chose that date for a reason. The reasons of which I will discuss when we launch CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian after the 29th.

Now... Go Spread the Word! Blogs, Forums, Emails...

and now a few CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian FAQ's.

Q: What Symbian OS's will the initial release support?
A: S60, S60 v3, UIQ, UIQ v3

Q: What Symbian versions will be added later?
A: S80, S90

Q: What features will be missing compared to CE and Palm?
A: Nothing, however the S60 v3 and UIQ v3 will not have file associations till we add digial signing.

Q: Will we support the S60 v1.0 (nGage).
A: No (even though it already supports it). We feel with the nGage's processing limitations is not really worth releasing CorePlayer Mobile for. But lets see if the community demands it... if so then sure, we will release it ;-)

Q: Will the installer be digitally signed?
A: No, not for the first few releases. We plan however to digitally sign each milestone release starting with 1.2.x

Q: Is the symbian player stable?
A: With 2 years of development, hell yes!! However we like trends... so we will call it CorePlayer Mobile v1.1 for Symbian "BETA" ;-) (Now we have an excuse if something does not work ;-). On a serious note... its our first public release and we do expect alot of initial bug reports.

Q: How often will you release Symbian updates?
A: Initially as often as needed. As with our other platforms when they first launched we expect a few releases initially to get the platform on par with our others. All purchasers will be notified by email on download availability of any update.

Q: Where can I buy CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian?
A: Starting on the 29th you can buy it at www.CorePlayer.com

Q: How much will it CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian cost?
A: Unlike our CE/Palm platforms (at $24.95) it will cost $29.95. However for the first few weeks we sell it at an introductory price of $24.95

Q: How is CorePlayer Mobile licensed?
A: It is linked to each user as well as that users IMEI code on the Symbian phone (plus the installer). In other words the .SIS installer you download will only work with the IMEI code given at the time of purchase for your phones hardware IMEI.

Q: Will the SIS installer work on another phone with another IMEI?
A: No, unlike a standard installer each CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian installer is 'uniquely' created JIT (Just in Time) during the purchase process for the user with his/her IMEI hardware code as well as the devices Symbian operating system.

Q: How do I find what my hardware IMEI code is on my device?
A: Type *#06# and the serial number (i.e. the IMEI code) of the phone will be displayed on the screen.

Q: Can I transfer CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian to a new phone?
A: More info on this later

Q: Will CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian support streaming?
A: The installer will prompt you to add network support to allow access for streaming. However note that we will only support standard HTTP/UDP streaming till our advanced streaming components (RTP/RTSP/RDP) will be added in a v1.2.x milestone release.

Q: What audio, video, images and container formats will CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian support?
A1:AUDIO: MP3, MP2, AAC, H.263, WAV, OGG, Speex, WAVPACK, FLAC, MPC, TTA, AMR, ADPCM, ALaw, MuLaw, Midi
A2:VIDEO: H.264 (CoreAVC), MPEG-1, MPEG-4 part 2 (ASP), DivX, XviD, Theora, Dirac, VP3, MJPEG, NRE, MSVIDEO1, and FLV*
A3:IMAGES: JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG (no progressive JPEG support)
A4:CONTAINERS: Matroska, TS, PS, 3GPP, MOV, AVI, MPEG-4, NSV (is supported but not the formats within the container)
*The FLV container for Flash video is supported in the CorePlayer platform however not available in our consumer editions and only available to OEM's (if they have a Flash license from Adobe).

Q: Does CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian support Windows Media (WMA and WMV)?
A: We are gonna keep you guessing on that til it launches ;-)

Q: Will CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian support GPU acceleration?
A: Yes, (eventually) in platforms that support it like the N95.

Q: Will CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian support UPNP?
A: Yes, but not for the first couple of releases. We plan on releasing it with 1.2.x

Q: Is there a demo version available?
A: No. You will not see any platform demo versions of any CorePlayer Mobile version till we reach milestone v1.5.

Q: Will the initial release support A2DP and AVRCP?
A: Since A2DP and AVRCP are only supported on a few handsets like the N95. We will not 'officially' support it for this initial release, however (and I stress however) it 'might' work so when we release it, lets have the community tell us what works or does not.

Q: Where can you submit bugs for Symbian?
A: To use our bug tracker first create a CoreForge account:
http://coreforge.org/account/register.php after logging in
use 'submit new' from here:
http://coreforge.org/tracker/?atid=225&group_id=15&func=browse

More info to follow in this post in a few hours/days.

Till then.... here are some backtrack news links for the initial CorePlayer on Symbian release:
